05:00 Hrs. Pick up from the hotel and departure from the city of Cusco towards Km. 82 from this point the guide will give information about the day’s activities.
We will begin our journey accompanied by “Quechua” porters advancing through the fertile valleys along the Urubamba River with a magnificent view of the snowy Veronica glacier, then we will continue to Llactapata, an ancient Inca city that protected the entrance to two valleys of the ancient Inca home, a privileged position, the guide will give the explanation of the sector, then we will walk for two more hours. To the Huayllabamba camp after a small climb to 3000 meters above sea level. We will rest for dinner and overnight.
In the morning, we will have 30 minutes for personal hygiene and to prepare the backpacks and then enjoy breakfast. Departure of the group, as the first day they will begin to climb towards an Inca village of Wayllabamba until the Warmiwañusca pass (the pass of the dead woman) at 4200 meters above sea level. Before this point we will have a Coffee break, and then continue walking to the highest part of the route for 4 to 5 hours, from which point you can enjoy a panoramic view of singular beauty of two leafy valleys. Lunch will be served at the camp, then we will continue with the walk, but this time downhill for approximately two hours, until we reach the Pacaymayo camp. Afternoon tea service, rest and dinner at 7:00 p.m.
This day we will walk along a stretch of the Inca trail that is remarkably well preserved, passing by ancient archaeological remains covered by a dense tropical forest, then we will visit Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, after this walk we will have lunch and then we will continue the walk until we reach Phuyupatamarca (city on the clouds)
We will have a spectacular view of several snow-capped peaks of the Andean mountain range, from where we will descend continuously for two hours until we arrive at the Wiñaywayna camp, the most spectacular archaeological complex of the route with a lush cloud forest covered with flowers and an enigmatic history. At this point, showers are available. At night we will enjoy an excellent buffet dinner and as is tradition, the group will collect a voluntary tip from the group of Quechua porters.
On this last day you will get up very early to say goodbye to the group of porters and continue with the walk, we will go through the tropical jungle until we reach the sun gate called Intipunku, we will enter Machu Picchu and we will have a 20-minute break to leave the backpacks.
Entrance to Machu Picchu, the Inca citadel, you will have two hours of guidance, after finishing the tour, go down to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Departure by train to the Ollantaytambo station where the tourist transport awaits you and transfer to Cusco. End of the tour!!
